Located in the Volta region these green hills take off right off the road from Ho to Hohoe. In these beautiful hills are the communities of Amedzofe, Biakpa, Vane and Gbadzeme. Fume on the main road is the gateway to these beautiful mountains, from there the road goes up to Biakpa with Mountain Paradise Lodge along the way about a km before Biakpa. These beautiful montians with their steep rise in elevation contain some lush rain forests, waterfalls, birds, butterflies, interesting villages, and with the cooler climates are a great place to hike and explore on foot.
The main draws are the inexpensive guest houses including Mountain Paradise Lodge, and the guest houses, along with the village of Amadzofe. There is also a great hike that takes about 3-4 hours out of Mountain Paradise Lodge going down into the river canyon where you can take a dip in the cool waters and see some waterfalls. Out of Amadzofe you can hike mount Gemi the most dominating peak in the skyline, hike to a waterfall along a steep hillside with the aid of ropes in the real steep sections, and explore the surrounding farm land with the friendly inhabitance and beautiful flowers around.
The whole area is getting to be very popular for hikers and trekkers. It is possible to spend a few days hiking around the area between villages and guest houses, and even connecting to villages as far as Tafi Atome.
